Romeo and Juliet is a famous tragic work by William Shakespeare. The traditional Chinese story Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is also similar to the love story of Romeo and Juliet. But this Chinese story is about two young men and women from different walks of life who fall in love, but eventually fail to marry and are transformed into butterflies after they die together. So l wondered what would happen if the story of Romeo and Juliet took place in China. Or perhaps the story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is not a tragedy of conflict between two classes leading to their deaths together but a tragedy of conflict between families like Romeo and Juliet. That's why I set Romeo and Juliet in ancient China. So I set Romeo and Juliet background in ancient China （Tang Dynisty）. All the costumes and set design are in ancient Chinese style.
